The Adelaide Fringe 2011
September 30th 2010 06:17
Original Creative Writing:
Last year a guy with bad hair, a jar of olives and an office chair came to the Adelaide Fringe. He did some stuff on stage that was often hilarious, a bit confronting and sometimes just confusing.
That guy was visual and surreal comedy absurdist Dr Brown and his super low budget, super high imagination shows sold out throughout the festival.
Sure, some people got up and left when Dr Brown attempted to kiss male and female audience members, threw the olives at the crowd and sat around for a good five minutes eating a pizza.
But he proved that sometimes you don't need much more than creativity and drive to run a successful Adelaide Fringe show.
The Adelaide Fringe is looking for its next lot of strange, talented, musical, flexible, incredible people to be part of the 2011 event. All you need to get involved is to register by Friday, October 15 at the Adelaide Fringe website (adelaidefringe.com.au) and you're on your way.
Adelaide Fringe offers artists access to a keen audience, the opportunity to lift their profile, develop and extend their networks, and be part of the veritable frenzy of arts activity that takes place in Adelaide every February and March.
