Once again this summer the V&A will host a fun-filled celebration of Arab culture. This free all day event through the Museum will allow visitors of all ages to enjoy music, art and design, through helping to bring a giant Islamic dome to life, middle eastern drumming, cinematic delights and poetry exploring characters from the 1001 Arabian Nights.
Returning to the V&A for a second year, Arabian Nights is a one-day family festival celebrating Arab and Islamic culture. As part of the V&A's Free Art Fun! programme, Arabian Nights will to bring the museum to life, stimulating adults and children to learn together through performance, music, design workshops and storytelling.
This large-scale cultural event will involve the Arab community in London as well as the pan-Arab and pan-Muslim communities of London. Families from a wide range of backgrounds will be inspired by a sense of excitement, energy and wonder as the V&A reveals itself as the ideal space for creative play and imaginative development.
