One of the funniest and best-loved comedies in the English language is coming to Sydney's West and the Illawarra for a season of fun and games.
Local stage comedy company NTT brings Noel Coward's hilarious BLITHE SPIRIT to life this May with performances at Riverside Theatres Parramatta and Wollongong's Illawarra Performing Arts Centre.
The story of Blithe Spirit is classic English farce with plenty of sexy twists and turns!
Seeking material for his latest novel about a fraudulent medium, Charles Condamine invites local eccentric Madam Arcati to his home to conduct a seance.
Charles, his present wife Ruth and their guests are sceptical of her powers but she does in fact materialize Charles's first wife Elvira.
After Madam Arcati leaves and Ruth has retired for the night, Elvira appears.
She is only visible to Charles and plans to cause as much trouble as she can before hatching a cunning plot to have Charles join her in the hereafter.
The plot backfires and Charles finds himself with 2 departed wives in residence.
Madam Arcati is again called for, this time in earnest.
Set in a country house in Kent, in pre WW2 England, Blithe Spirit is alive with Noel Coward's wonderful witty dialogue and beautifully drawn characters.
According to Coward It is the best thing I ever did, and theatre critics still agree with him, awarding Blithe Spirit a Tony for its 2009 Broadway revival.
Directed by Carol Dicker, this sparkling production features David Tucker, Nicole Beaver, Samantha O'Hare, Marnie Engel, Adam Ryder, Nadine Hulme and Leanne Cooper.
