Edmund Barton:

May 2nd 2006 13:38
Okay guys, this is the first part to segments on each of the Prime MInisters of Australia. Here's just a bit of information on Edmund Barton.

· Was born in Glebe and had a very distinguished
academic career.
· In fact he was one of the very first people to
graduate from Sydney University.
· He was a key player in Federation. And gave
many speeches all over Australia to help make sure
it happened.
· Interestingly enough he left his position as
Prime minister on his own choosing in order

to become a high court judge.

Ah, there is always one wet blanket and i am taking it upon myself to be the tool in this case. Barton was also a big advocate of the white australia policy too! Along, with Alfred Deakin!

Dont foget to do an article on the prime minister we lost.
Isn't it ironic that they named a pool after Harold Holt. The man drowned!
