Described as both a rite of passage and a curatorial nightmare, graduate exhibitions are an opportunity to see the future.
This year, twenty-nine of South Australia's best and freshest emerging visual artists have been selected to feature in the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition 2012.
Chosen from more than 150 graduates of the Helpmann Academy's visual arts partner institutions, this unique combination of artists come together in a diverse and energetic survey show.
The 17th Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition is a concentrated opportunity to discover artworks across a range of creative disciplines including ceramics, glass, installations, jewellery, moving image, painting, photography and sculpture, all celebrating the energy, vitality and diversity embodied in the work of emerging artists.

A number of awards valued at more than $13,000 are presented on opening night, including the Hill Smith Gallery/Helpmann Academy Friends Award; Raffen Award; City of Adelaide Award; Peter Walker Fine Art Encouragement Award; SALA Festival Award and the ever-popular Backer's Prize.
Visitors to the exhibition will also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite artwork in the People's Choice Award, announced at the close of the exhibition.
