Italy, a land of Beauty and contradiction. It’s seen the roman emperors, and survived the fascism of Mussolini. Its also given birth to some of the most amazing painters. What can I say, these posts are seriously making me want to go to Europe.

The colosseum:
This is a piece of architecture that has survived since the age of the ancient Romans. If you’ve seen the film the Gladiator, then you would be familiar with the colosseum. It was where the Romans had their games and where the gladiators fought for their freedom.
The Uffizi Gallery
its in Florence, it was a gallery sponsored by the Medicis and houses art from everyone including: Da Vinci, Michelangelo, titan, and Caravaggio. You can also see the primavera here.
Venice:
I don’t need to say anything for this one, its one of the most romantic cities in the world, everyone should go to Venice.
The leaning tower of Pisa-
Galileo did his experiments here to prove that two objects of different weights fall at the same rate. And its an icon of sorts.
Famous Italian people
Botticelli, Michelangelo and Da Vinci were all Italians. Pretty impressive no? and lets not forget Sophia Loren

Oh, and by the way, there is absolutely no exaggerating about driving in Italy - they seriously don't follow the law. They wear no seat belts, the orange traffic light is simply a suggestion (as is red in some areas) and passenger crossings are so common that they hold absolutely no meaning - cars won't stop simply because people are crossing at white lines painted on black ashphalt. The highways are different yet again - instead of a maximum speed, there's a minimum - Fiat 500s, one of the smallest and powerless cars to be made in the last century go at least 140 to 150 km/h and any less is simply a cultural crime. Watch out, because if you can't get up to 160 or 170, you're most likely to be taken out.

I did, however, think I was going to die (constantly): The Italian's drive at ridiculous speeds, down ridiculous roads with ridiculously small amount of space for pedestrians to cower.
Also, for any who see a building with skulls decorating it and images of death holding an hourglass: you are probably seeing the church of the dead...creepy.
