The National Office for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (NEP), Bangkok aims to develop the protection and empowerment system for the rights of persons with disabilities and to promote, support and empower disabled people's organizations and networks.
The main activities include coordinating policies and plans on the empowerment of persons with disability at the domestic and international levels and to empower and protect the rights of persons with disabilities and promote access to public services for persons with disabilities without discrimination.
NEP seeks a Disability Project Officer to collaborate with disability-related international government and non-government organisations and to establish collaborative networks or mechanisms of both government sector and non-government sector concerning disability issues at sub-regional, regional level, and international levels.
To be considered for this integral role you will:
Degree in disability-related fields or other related social sciences
Extensive experience in coordinating with in international organisation, particularly disability-related government and non-government organisations
Knowledge and awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities
Experience in project management
Experience in delivering training/mentoring
This opportunity is a volunteer assignment. You will be supported by Australian Volunteers International with airfares, accommodation, briefing and orientation, health and travel insurance, living allowance and ongoing support throughout the assignment. Support is provided by AusAID, the Australian Government's overseas aid program.
