Dinner with a View launches its second season at Eastside Arts Cafe in Paddington presents theatre with a theatre treat with difference! Following up on its premiere season A Taste Sensation (which offered a selection of short plays), Sydney audiences will be treated this time to an intimate evening with friends, food and fairy tales. A vibrant theatre experience awaits with the grotesque and witty adult fairy tale, Princess Ivona - served up while enjoying wine and antipasto platters.

Rebelling against the laws of nature, the Prince decides to marry the awkward anaemic Ivona. When presented to the court, Ivona soon becomes the cause of decay. Her mute and intrusive presence reveals each courtier his own blemishes, vices and dark secrets. In a short time the court turns into an incubator of monsters. Gombrowicz uses grotesque and humorous elements to offer us a wacky mirror of casual cruelty.

Originally published in 1938, Princess Ivona has since been produced in over thirty countries.

Directed by David Farland, the cast features David Bond, Brooke Doherty, Sylvia Dritsakis, Kim Dickson, Claire Fearon, Brett Heath, Justine Keim, Lachlan McWilliam and Kathy Urukalo. Costumes by Aron Dosiak, lighting design by Sydney Bouhaniche and make-up design by Alice Baueris.

Artistic director and curator of the series Cecile Payet says Theatre With a View continues to offer creative, bold but accessible theatre.

"Our seasons aim diversity, creativity and quality!" she enthuses. "We bring a fresh new approach to Sydney theatre by providing accessible encounters with theatrical works in a welcoming non-conventional theatre space. We'll also support and nurture the local theatre community by offering flexible co-production opportunities to Sydney-based theatre artists."

Take a journey through Polish writer Witold Gombrowicz's most famous play in the relaxed atmosphere of the Eastside Arts cafe.
