The Oily Rag Murder

Fringe Festival Show Must Go On!

RAPA presents The Oily Rag Murder
at the SYDNEY FRINGE FESTIVAL

The Oily Rag Murder by Kaz Getts is a hilarious comedy-cum-murder-mystery play, based on a true story about what happens when the show must go on - despite just about every obstacle in its path!

A troupe of actors arrive at the theatre on opening night ready to perform - but the stage and all their set, costumes and props have vanished. Their local council landlords know exactly what happened but aren't in a hurry to assist and with the audience about to arrive for a sold-out performance, it's going to take a miracle for this one to be 'all right on the night'!

This funny, clever piece that delighted audiences during its world premiere season at Concord has now been selected as an umbrella event of the 2010 Sydney Fringe Festival.

Oily Rag Murder
Playing at the New Theatre (542 King Street, Newtown) performances are:

Tuesday 21 September at 8pm;
Thursday 23 September at 6pm;
Friday 24 September at 10 pm; and
Sat 25 September at 4pm.

Tickets are $24 ($20 concession) and are available from the Sydney Fringe booking hotline on 02 9550 3666 or on-line at www.thesydneyfringe.com.au

RAPA is an inner west Sydney-based theatre company dedicated to staging new and original Australian theatre. Pull Up Your Shorts in 2009 featured 5 brand new short plays by Australian playwrights and other recent RAPA Aussie premieres include Copperfield Creek and Woodstyx.

The Oily Rag Murder by Kaz Getts is directed by Gerry James and stars Vincent Andriano, Jessica McKerlie, Danielle Nicholson, David Woodland, Matthew Blackwood Hume, Kaz Getts, Kay Symons, Christopher Dean and Michelle Randall.
