When you read a graphic novel how does it become embedded in you? Watch a movie, maybe a few times. In a half sleep. In full concentration. Do these images convey a great deal of information into you like a pump? I think so, it certainly invites this to happen when you watch.

The graphic novel into film WATCHMEN is a very fine entertainment. The many layers and shadows present in the film on a visual level combined with the rough Raymond Chandler on downers style of story; rape, hatred, violence, greed; it all makes for fascinating viewing. Start to engage with the extra material available in the various books they've released around the film and things start to become quite deep.

WATCHMEN The Film Companion is filled with additional information, back story, under story, detail. Beautiful photographs of cast in character with profiles of the characters they play feature; The process of making Mister Manhattan. He with the extraordinary abilities and exquisite taste, given the machine he creates on Mars.

It is fantastic quality stuff and if you have an interest in filmmaking or SciFi you would be most impressed I can assure you.

WATCHMEN The Art Of The Film is equally astonishing, if ever there were a film that required art work, this is it. The detail in recreating the world of WATCHMEN is fine to say the least. Here in this tome you can find the riches of line drawings and colour drawings of characters, set designs, models, costumes, props, storyboards. It is the whole kit and caboodle. This is really very nice material to study, particularly because of the noir quality of the film and the time period it evokes.

The fans of WATCHMEN have maybe already bought one or two of the range available in the series from Titan Books. They are definitely excellent quality and full of great material.
